Kronborg (Danish pronunciation: [ˈkʰʁoːnˌpɒˀ]) is a castle and historical stronghold in the town of Helsingør, Denmark. Immortalised as Elsinore in William Shakespeare's play Hamlet, Kronborg is one of the most important Renaissance castles in Northern Europe.
