Givet (French pronunciation: [ʒi.vɛ]) (German: Gibet; Walloon: Djivet) is a commune in the Ardennes department in northern France surrounded on three sides by the Belgian border. It lies on the river Meuse where Emperor Charles V built the fortress of Charlemont.
